Data collection

aDict is designed as a lookup and reading utility. The app does not require an account for normal dictionary lookup.

Dictionary data

Local dictionary files and lookup activity should remain part of the user's reading environment. This website does not receive or store those local dictionary files.

Crash and startup diagnostics

Starting with version 3.2 on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, aDict sends crash reports, startup-stage information, app-hang reports, and session diagnostic metrics to Sentry to help diagnose failures and improve reliability. Reports can include the app version, operating system version, device information, and generated installation or device identifiers. They are not associated with an aDict account.

We do not attach your local dictionary files, dictionary HTML, lookup history, or favorites to these reports. Automatic reporting of lookup URLs and screen labels is disabled. Session replay, screenshot capture, and continuous performance profiling are not enabled.

Diagnostic reports are processed by Sentry. For details about that service, see the Sentry Privacy Policy.
